Description:
Gtk-Gnutella is a clone of Gnutella. It runs on every Unix which supports GTK+ (1.2 or above). Gnome is not needed but libxml should be available for best performance. It is currently developed and tested under Linux (Debian 2.2) and is known to run at least on Linux, FreeBSD, NetBSD, OpenBSD, Darwin/PowerPC, Solaris 8/SPARC, Tru64 Unix/Alpha, SGI IRIX 6.2/mips.
It is released under the GNU Public License (GPL).
Gtk-Gnutella is not finished yet, but it is fully functional: you may share, search, and download. And it is stable too, users usually just leave it run unattended for days.
Description:
LimeWire is a software tool that enables peer-to-peer file sharing on the Gnutella network. Similar to the popular Napster service, it enables the sharing, searching, and downloading of MP3 music files. LimeWire also lets users share and search for all types of computer files, including movies, pictures, games, and text documents. Other features include pushing uploads and downloads, BearShare QHD compatibility, the ability to measure the speed of remote hosts and preview files while downloading, and a chat feature.
Version 3.3.4 features new bandwidth-saving features and a selective querying process to extend the reach for rare and specific searches.
Description:
Mutella is a terminal-mode Gnutella client with an intuitive and easy to use interface. Initially written by Max for himself, Mutella has now been released to the general public for the benefit of all of us in need of a solid, high-performance client.
Mutella supports all the functionality required to participate as a full-featured node in the Gnutella network. "Full-featured" implies support for file search, download and sharing.
Optimized for a high-bandwidth connection, it sets standards for the server performance and stability. However, Mutella is also happy to run on a modest-speed line.
Description:
Qtella is a client for the Gnet with many useful features. Most of these features are taken from the comments and suggestions of Qtella users. I want to thank all of these users.
Qtella is written in C++ and uses the Qt libraries. It is available for Linux and the Sharp Zaurus. A Win32 version is in progress (an alpha version is already available but it's very unstable). The advantages of Qtella compared to other clients is that it is very fast (due to the fact of using C++ instead of Java), available for many platforms (due to the fact of using Qt) and that Qtella is neither Spyware nor Addware!
